All-on-4® Treatment Concept

Achieve the Healthy, Complete Smile You Deserve

At OC Oral Surgery, we understand the difficulties that accompany tooth loss, especially when many or all teeth are missing or failing. We proudly offer the All-on-4 treatment concept, a full-arch restoration system that completely restores your smile using an implant-supported prosthesis.

Dr. Ahn is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who specializes in implant-based tooth restoration. If you are ready to achieve a complete smile that looks and functions naturally, contact our practice in Aliso Viejo, CA, today to explore your tooth restoration options. Full-arch restoration is a life-changing procedure, and with a brand new smile, you will be able to eat comfortably, laugh confidently, and enjoy your new smile for years to come.

What Is the All-on-4 Treatment Concept?

Designed by Nobel Biocare, the All-on-4 treatment concept is a full-arch restoration treatment that provides patients with a brand new, fixed smile in one day. Also called full-arch replacement or Teeth-in-a-Day, this procedure involves using four dental implants to support a denture in the upper and/or lower arches.

Your oral surgeon will insert four dental implants, then immediately attach a fixed denture. In just a few hours, you will have a brand new smile. All-on-4 eliminates the need for bone grafting, resulting in a shorter treatment time and reduced costs, compared to conventional full-arch treatments.

Traditional dentures can replace the appearance of missing teeth, but are often inconvenient and unstable. Dentures can make it difficult to eat and speak, and many patients find it embarrassing to remove their teeth during meals or brushing. With an implant-supported denture, your replacement teeth stay in place at all times. There are no dental adhesives or special products necessary. To maintain good oral hygiene, simply brush and floss your teeth just like natural teeth.

Am I a Candidate for All-on-4?

The All-on-4 treatment concept is ideal for edentulous or soon-to-be edentulous patients. If you have been missing most or all of your teeth for many years or are on the verge of losing your teeth, you are likely an excellent candidate for full-arch restoration.

Patients who are interested in implant-based tooth restoration but who are not able to receive bone grafts may qualify for All-on-4 treatment. Traditional implants require a healthy jaw bone to support the implant post. Many patients who receive dental implants require bone grafts to rebuild the jaw bone and create a healthy foundation. With All-on-4, the posterior implants are inserted at a tilted angle, utilizing the available bone and eliminating the need for bone grafting.

When you visit our office for a consultation, we will take 3D scans of your mouth and face to see if you qualify for full-arch restoration. Dr. Ahn will discuss your smile restoration goals and design a custom treatment plan based on your individual needs.

All-on-4 Procedure

The All-on-4 treatment concept requires only one surgical visit. Prior to your procedure, we will explain your anesthesia options and help you select the right choice for your level of comfort. Many patients undergo IV sedation during full-arch restoration surgery.

Once the anesthesia has taken effect, Dr. Ahn will extract any remaining teeth in the dental arch. Then, he will make incisions in the gum tissue and insert the dental implant posts. A temporary prosthesis is attached to the implants, and your procedure is complete. After just a few hours, you will leave our office with a brand-new smile!

You will wear the temporary prosthesis while the dental implants heal, which can take several months. During this time, your restorative dentist creates your final, customized prosthesis. After the implants have healed, your dentist will attach the final and permanent prosthesis.
