Happy Thanksgiving! Our team at OC Oral Surgery is thankful to be serving Mission Viejo and the larger Orange County community. It is our mission to help people in our community improve their oral health and lives. To give back to our community this year, we launched our Second Chance program, which gives one community member the chance to receive a free full-mouth restoration.
Missing teeth and poor oral health can drastically affect a person’s quality of life. Pain and low self-esteem make it hard for people who are missing many teeth to perform normal daily functions, like eating and smiling. Patients with extensive tooth loss often report having difficulty finding jobs and socializing. We received many applications, which further proved the need for quality oral health care services in our community, and we look forward to helping patients throughout Orange County.
After carefully reviewing the applications, we chose Krista Sanchez as the final recipient of the free full upper and lower arch restorations. She was extremely positive throughout the application process, and her supportive attitude and drive to improve herself truly moved our entire staff.
Krista’s oral health has suffered over the years. She has two teeth remaining on the top row and six on the bottom. Despite her poor oral health, she is constantly trying to set a good example for her daughters. She teaches them not to judge people based on their looks, and she wants to use her new smile to help her secure a good job and become more self-sufficient. She has a wonderful, outgoing personality, and a new smile will give her the confidence to socialize and participate more frequently at her daughters’ school.
Krista is currently in the treatment planning stage of her transition. She will undergo a full-arch replacement procedure, where a permanent, custom-made arch of new teeth will be fixed to her jaw using four or more strategically placed dental implants. She will be able to enjoy a beautiful new smile immediately after the procedure, and once the implant sites heal, Krista will be able to eat whatever she chooses.
The whole team at OC Oral Surgery thanks Krista for sharing her story with us. We are glad to have had the opportunity to meet her and help her throughout this transition. If you’d like to learn more about some of our tooth restoration options, we encourage you to contact our office. We love seeing the positive changes that patients like Krista see after a tooth restoration.
